Requirements
Vaccination Policy
Vaccine protection against highly contagious and potentially deadly viruses and bacteria will mean less risks of dogs getting sick. If all dogs who are playing together are current on their vaccines, then you can be assured that your pup will be playing with fully vaccinated friends. Pawz requires all dogs to be up-to-date on the following vaccinations:
Rabies
DHLPP
Bordetella / Kennel Cough
Bordetella is required to be current. Veterinarians recommend the Bordetella vaccine be given to dogs who are often in social settings. The Bordetella vaccine helps control and prevent the spread of germs that cause canine kennel cough.
In order to allow time for your dog to develop an immune response from vaccines, please make veterinary appointments 10-14 days prior to attending Pawz.
Spay & Neuter Policy
At Pawz we accept all dogs of different ages, sizes & breeds, as long as they pass our Meet & Greet assessment.
While professionals recommend to always Spay and Neuter your pets for their health and well-being, we respect each parent’s choice and decision. We do not discriminate against un-spayed / un-neutered pets.
Safety Commitment & Policy
Medications
We take medication administration very seriously. Help us by sorting, pre-portioning & making notes for us, as it applies.
Aggressive and / or Destructive Dogs
Abiding by the UAE Law
Because we strictly follow the UAE Law and all the necessary protocols implemented by the Dubai Municipality, we strictly follow all criteria mentioned below: we take these very seriously!
- All dogs need to be microchipped, vaccinated, licensed and registered.
- All dogs must have a Dubai Municipality Tag, which is renewed yearly.
- Abusing, hunting, buying or selling animals is considered an act of animal abuse and can be punishable by law.
- As announced by the Dubai Municipality, abandoning your pet is considered an act of animal cruelty and illegal/punishable by law.
Meet & Greet
While we strongly believe that there is no such thing as a bad breed or a bad dog, not every dog is suited for our off-leash, open-play environment. We take our doggie guests’ safety very seriously, so each one must first complete a thorough Meet & Greet, to ensure they are a good fit for our daycare.
For the Meet & Greet, on the day of your appointment please arrive with your dog on a leash or slip lead with a collar/harness. The evaluation process with your dog, will take approximately 2-3 hours with our trained evaluator. During this time, we would love to learn more about your requirements, address your questions and you can even watch some of our guests playing from the viewing room!
What to Expect
The Meet & Greet is conducted on-site by one of our trained professionals. It includes the following steps:
- It begins with an overview of history and health of your pup.
- Your pup joins our team member in an evaluation room to observe how they react when away from their pet-parent.
- During the evaluation, we conduct a nose to tail assessment to identify sensitivities to touch that your dog may have. If a dog is sensitive to touch in one area, this is not necessarily an issue, but it is important for their comfort and our team is aware of it.
- We then bring a few additional dogs into the controlled mini play area, one at a time to assess your pup’s comfort level. Our team member observes how they interact with the other dogs to assess their comfort with an open play environment.
- We will also assess their comfort level in a cabin or chalet, which are only used for rest, nap time, sleepovers and feedings (when applicable).
- Our team will then, share what they learned with the pet-parent. If for some reason the dog is not yet ready for open play, we will recommend steps the pet parent can take to help address the observed concern(s).
- The process is very easy and there is nothing to be nervous about – we look forward to getting to know your pup better!
*Please note that although we are an open-play environment, we provide a private nap for each dog in individual cabins/chalets from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. similar to children in a daycare, this allows a short rest for the dogs and allows staff to prepare and serve meals and medications (when applicable) and thoroughly clean the playroom before an afternoon of open play! Puppies often need more frequent naps, and our team is trained to pick up on puppy cues, so you may see puppies in and out of play throughout the day.
